Voice Biometric Data Retention and Destruction Policy
Last updated: 2026-04-18 — pending legal review
What we collect
A voice embedding (a 64-128 byte mathematical vector derived from your child's voice). The raw audio used to compute it is discarded immediately and is never stored.
Why we collect it
To recognize your child when they speak to Tali, so the assistant can apply your family's age- and member-specific guardrails. The embedding is used solely for speaker identification.
How long we keep it
Until you revoke this consent, delete your child's profile, or close your family account. Whichever comes first triggers immediate, permanent deletion of the embedding (typically within seconds; guaranteed within 30 days for distributed-system propagation across any registered devices).
Your rights as a parent
- You can revoke this consent at any time on the Family page in Tali.
- Revocation is immediate and irreversible — your child's voice embedding is permanently deleted.
- You can request a copy of your consent records before revoking.
- Revoking voice biometric consent does NOT delete conversation history (covered by general COPPA consent — separate revocation).
No sale, no sharing, no third-party training
Voice embeddings are never sold, never shared with third parties, never used for advertising, and never used to train models for any party other than Tali's own speaker-identification model.
